3 Things To Ask Your Fencing Contractor

A good fence will do a lot of things for you, including making sure that you have privacy and that no one can trespass on your land. But getting that good fence isn't always easy. There are several things that you are going to have to consider when making the decision about which fence you should go with. One way to make sure that you are covering everything is to talk to a fencing contractor. What are some of the questions you should ask the contractor before you make your final decision?

Ease of Installation

One of the things that you should ask is how easy it is to install the fence. Some types of fences are going to take more work than others, and if you want to have something in quickly, you are going to want to get a fence that is pretty easy to install and doesn't need to have a lot of extra work like having to have a trench dug along the fence line in order to install it.

Property Lines

You should also talk to the fencing contractor to find out who handles any property line disputes. You need to know exactly where your property line is for your fence. You don't want to spend a lot of money installing a new fence only to find out that a section of it is actually on your neighbor's property. If you aren't sure where your property lines are, you can end up with exactly that situation. You should talk to your contractor to see if they will pin down your property lines or if it's your job to make sure that the property lines are clear and easily marked. If you aren't sure where they are, you can hire a surveyor to check them out for you.

Environmentally Friendly Fencing

If you are concerned about your carbon footprint, you might want to make sure that the fencing you are installing is environmentally friendly. For example, if you want to have vinyl fencing, you should find out what percentage of the fence will be made out of recycled material. If you already have a vinyl fence that needs to be replaced, you should ask the contractor if they can recycle the old fencing.

If you are going to get new fencing, you want to make sure that you are considering all the variables involved. You can talk to a fencing contractor and ask them a few questions before you make your final decision.

About Me
hardscaping areas that won't grow grass easily

I live in an area that is very difficult to grow grass. If I was to water my lawn a couple of times each day, the grass may grow, but that would cost me a small fortune in water bills and waste a lot of water that could be used for more efficient purposes. Instead of fighting the grass to grow, I decided to embrace the dryness of the area and complete the landscape design using mostly hardscape materials. I used rocks of all sizes coupled with wood to create a yard that I love to spend time in and am very proud of. Find out how to use nothing more than hardscape materials to finish your property.
